Answers to the most common questions about a holiday in Paphos.
Paphos is a resort on the south-eastern coast of Cyprus, in the Famagusta region, about 50 km from Larnaca airport. It is famous for white sandy beaches, crystal-clear water and a buzzing nightlife.
A week in Paphos for 2 people in the 2026 season averages £700-1300 per person with flight and a 3-4* hotel. Off-season (April, October) prices drop by 30-40%.
The sweet spots are May-June and September-October — warm sea, fewer crowds, lower prices. July and August are peak season with temperatures above 32°C.
Paphos has some of the finest beaches in the Mediterranean: Nissi Beach (Blue Flag), Konnos Bay (a cove inside Cape Greco park), Macronissos, Grecian Bay and Sandy Bay. All of them with white-gold sand and turquoise water.
Direct flights from London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh to Larnaca (LCA) — about 4h 30min. From the airport a transfer to Paphos by taxi (~€50), shuttle (~€10) or bus (~€3) — 45 minutes.
Winter sees Paphos switch to a quieter mode — most clubs and some hotels close. But 18-22°C in the day, sunshine and low prices make it a solid bet for a warm half-term break with Cape Greco walks and Cypriot food.
Paphos is the party capital of Cyprus — clubs along Ayia Napa Square (Castle Club, Soho, Fire Club, Pamboo) run from 11pm until 6am. July and August host international music festivals.
